FREDERICK  LUDWIG MARSTELLER , 1702-1753

 

Frederick Ludwig purchased land in Upper Providence Township. He was active in forming the oldest Lutheran church in America, Augustus Lutheran in Trappe. His name is displayed above the door of the old church building. This church is still in use at various times during the year.

He also had a very close relationship with Rev. Muhlenberg and helped to bring him to the Trappe area and organize the Lutheran religion in that area.
